Our Farewell Trip
Mike DiPatri 6/22/07
Living in Arizona, I don’t get the opportunity to go to games at Yankee Stadium any more. Because of the impending demise of the stadium, I felt it important to make one more trip to see her. My youngest son had never been, so we made a big trek of it. Yankee Stadium is one of those places every baseball fan should see; whether a Yankees fan or not. This trip will surely be our last time seeing the old place so we made the best of it. Here are just some of the pictures we took.
It was a great trip. My son got a chance to see the place where the game was perfected. He made his pilgrimage to baseball’s holy land. I had my last chance to say good-bye to the great cathedral. We have a lot more pictures from each day, but I can’t put all of them here. The pages would just take too long to load. You can see all of them at my MySpace site. Our next trip will be to the new stadium.
